About MG Underwriting

Michael established MG Insurance in 1995 and proceeded to become a Limited company in 1997. Prior to establishing the company Michael worked as a Sales Inspector at United Friendly selling small commercial policies. He started trading as a general broker and in 2000 progressed into wholesaling after securing MG’s first binding authority with Lloyd’s. Developing excellent relationships with clientele, brokers and insurers, Michael has driven MG to its current position where we presently work with over 200 brokers and have several binders with a panel of A rated insurers.

Michael joined the Royal Navy at 17, served 10 years and was promoted to the role of Petty Officer prior to leaving in 1990. He is now happily married and has 3 children and 2 pet dogs. Michael enjoys taking time to wind down on long walks with his dogs at home in Lytham, playing squash and cycling.

Michael is extremely hardworking and competitive in everything that he strives to do. Coming second is not an option and he has endeavoured to push himself to the limit throughout his career.

Tracey joined MG in 2000 from a previous brokerage and now works as a senior member of the underwriting team. Tracey achieved the Certificate in Insurance in 2007 and has since completed additional units towards the Diploma.

With 25 years’ experience overall, Tracey has worked closely alongside Michael for a number of years and remains one of the key members of staff at MG.

In her spare time, Tracey enjoys a run after work when she can muster up the energy!

Amanda joined MG Insurance in November 2001 after working at a loss adjusting practice for 11 years. She has worked mostly with other Brokers and a small amount of direct clients. Her work includes checking documents, making alterations to policies, processing mid-term adjustments, managing renewals, issuing documents, arranging surveys and dealing with general queries.

Socially, Amanda enjoys taking long walks with her dog, Zeus, and the occasional visit to the pub. Whenever she gets the opportunity she also enjoys visiting her Mum & Dad in France.

Wendy started working at MG Insurance in January 1996, making her the longest serving member of staff. Her role involves collecting premiums from clients/brokers and credit control.
